The latest because every week—in fact, every day—the same causes produce the same results. We keep track of the numbers without ever mentioning the stories of the victims and the collateral victims. May 16 was the national day of remembrance for road traffic victims. That same day, a 7-year-old girl died in a head-on collision, a 9-year-old child was seriously injured in a crash, and an 18-year-old girl was struck by a driver who fled the scene. The same causes produce the same results. Run-off-road accidents, collisions, head-on crashes—regardless of the type of road. Whether it’s a highway, a national highway, a state highway, or a local road. This week, we’ve seen 12 injuries, 7 serious injuries, and 5 fatalities.
