News for July 2025

  • Support for victims.

There has been an increase in requests for help, but unfortunately, for far too many people, it came too late.
Most of those who requested information and/or assistance were victims of traffic accidents.

  • In the Senate.

Adoption of the bill, on second reading, establishing the offense of vehicular homicide.
The law was published in the Official Journal on July 10.

Written submission to the fact-finding mission on the enforcement of sentences, at the request of Senator Laurent Somon.

  • Launch of the emergency guide on steps to take for victims of personal injury accidents.

A downloadable version for computers and smartphones, as well as an audio version.
The guide includes 11 downloadable appendices.
Three communication materials have also been produced.

Initial feedback has been very positive, both from victims and from those working on the ground, with the exception of one medical consultant for victims who believes the guide does not adequately address the issues at hand.

  • Appointments.

At the Seine-Saint-Denis Prefecture for the annual meeting of the departmental road safety task force.
This was an opportunity to present our guide and discuss matters with the deputy prosecutor of the Bobigny Public Prosecutor’s Office, as well as law enforcement officials.
More to come in September!

At the National Health Insurance Fund to discuss third-party claims and reiterate our association’s role in supporting victims.

At the Interministerial Delegation for Victim Assistance (DIAV) to discuss the guide’s communication strategy and say goodbye to Elen Vuidard—but just for now.

We held a video conference with a member of the Covéa Group to introduce our association and discuss our expectations.
We’ll be meeting with the Personal Injury Claims Department in September with a shared goal: to put the victim back at the center of the claims process and to prioritize the human element.

  • A new city council is supporting us.

The town of Esmans (77), bringing the total number of towns committed to better protection for victims of personal injury accidents to seven.
