Senator CHAIN-LARCHE will welcome us and ask the Minister of Education the following question:

| Road Safety Education for Young People |

Ms. Anne Chain-Larché draws the attention of the Minister of National Education to the vital work carried out by the Maison de la Sécurité Routière (MSR-Var), a highly active administrative body established by the State (the Prefecture) and the Var Department, which raises awareness among young people of driving age about the risks of the road.
Organizations that assist victims of personal injury accidents do a remarkable job of providing guidance and support to the victims themselves and their families. They lament the lack of prevention efforts targeting young people and the fact that initiatives like those of this organization in the Var region have not been widely adopted.
Schools organize drug prevention meetings. Following this example, education to raise awareness of road safety risks should begin at a very early age among young people, who are the primary victims of traffic accidents
She asks whether it might be possible to organize a one-hour road safety session in every school for 8th-grade students (the age at which one can legally ride a scooter, moped, or drive a car without a license) and 12th-grade students (the year they become eligible for a driver’s license), featuring a young person their own age who has been involved in a traffic accident? We are awaiting the Minister’s response!
